Beth Jacobson

I am the Director of Development and Resourcing at Ohlinger Studios. In this capacity on the leadership team, I supervise print and digital development, training, resourcing, and troubleshooting.

I began working at Ohlinger Studios as a development editor and then a managing editor, in a wide variety of disciplines: nursing, trades, elementary education, American Government, U.S. History, World History and Western Civilization. I have developed and edited print and digital content including instructor manuals, test banks, and interactive data visualization tools (Social Explorers).

I have developed a number of first editions, including Teaching Reading and Writing by Shane Templeton and Kristin M. Gehsmann and Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship & Workforce Development, a collaboration between Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) and the Western Electrical Contractors Association (WECA). I also worked on revisions of a number of titles in the humanities and social sciences including Keene, Visions of America 3e and Magleby, Government by the People 25e.

I earned a B.S. from University of Illinois in Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I spent eighteen years in the world of public education: I was a classroom teacher on the border of the Navajo Reservation and on the west side of Phoenix, AZ; I later became a curriculum coordinator in Phoenix and then the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to joining Ohlinger Studios, I was also the Director of Sales Marketing for the School Division of Charlesbridge Publishing.

I am a big fan of the time-travel TV series, Outlander, set in Scotland, and look forward to trip to the British Isles in the near future.
