What’s your “best-at?”

Problem solving—the hairier, the better.

I have recently spent most of my time working in the K-12 space and diving into the new territories of career and technical education and workforce learning.

I have served as a content developer and course builder for online blended learning courses in a variety of K-12 subject areas and participated in the large-scale digital conversion of hundreds of higher education course titles. I am currently serving as instructional designer for an online career and technical education course. Internally, I am working with our company's diversity, equity, and inclusion task force to learn and develop best practices for our OS community. I'm taking part in the re-imagining of our company hiring practices, as well as working with the Operations Strategy team to streamline our ability to track and manage internal and external resources.

I began my career at the development house Words & Numbers. I held a variety of roles during my 11 years there, including head of the Humanities and World Languages Department and Director of Business Development. With W&N, I managed development across a variety of subject areas for both print products and online programs, including course development for several virtual schools. I learned the critical importance of flexibility and creative thinking in educational publishing and brought those skills with me when I moved to Pearson in 2011. As a senior development editor at Pearson, I worked primarily on digital-first titles in psychology and sociology.

I earned a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame and an MSEd from Johns Hopkins University, with a specialization in reading. In addition, I taught graduate courses at Johns Hopkins University in the Department of Teacher Development and Leadership. I hold a graduate certificate from the University of Washington in E-Learning Design and Development.
